Having dark knuckles and elbows can be really embarrassing and reduce one’s self-confidence.  We all know that sighting dark patches on the knuckles/elbows, can be irritating and unpleasant. You don’t need to worry again as there are natural home remedies to brighten dark knuckles and elbows. Enjoy these latest tips on how to brighten dark knuckles and elbows.
  • Get a good scrub: A good exfoliation is very important to get rid of dark knuckles and elbows, because the main reason behind them are accumulation of dead skin cells. Make a scrub with honey, sugar and lemon juice. Mix the three ingredients together, apply on your knuckles/elbows and scrub in circular motion for 10minutes. Do this regularly to get the desired results.
  • Bleach the skin naturally: dark knuckles /elbows can be bleached naturally by applying the mixture of turmeric, lemon juice and honey for about 15minutes daily. The honey, lemon and turmeric are very good lightening agents.
  • Make a Mask using 1-tsp of gram flour, 2-tsp of milk and 2-tsp of lime juice; Mix these ingredients in a bowl thoroughly to form a paste and apply it on the affected area. Leave the mask until it dries and wash off. This treatment should be done twice in a month. This masks also helps in getting rid of tan and making the skin brighter.
  • Pumice stone: Pumice stone is used when getting a manicure and it’s mainly used to scrub off dead skin cells from the knuckles. You can use pumice stone daily while taking your bath to scrub the knuckles/elbows. This helps in softening the area and enhancing absorption of treatments.
  • Almond oil: Almond oil is very good for the skin, the oil can be massaged on the knuckles/elbow, after following any of the treatments above. When done regularly, this will help in reducing the darkness and make the knuckles/elbows lighter.
  • Pamper your hands once in a while: Take some warm water, add a spoon of baking soda, glycerin and rose water.  Soak your hands/elbows in this water for 20 minutes or more. This therapy revitalizes and brightens the area.
